What is Pillar?
Pillar is designed to work where Internet access is unavailable either due to cost, poor service/speed,or just lack of coverage altogether.Once set up,Pillar receives Outernet is free broadcast from space,which includes content as varied as all of Wikipedia,news,weather,games,music,video,ebooks,courseware,software… any digital file can be sent over Outernet and received by Pillar.Pillar stores these files on its internal drive.Anyone can connect to the Pillar through its Wi-Fi hotspot.Once connected,users view the files Pillar has received in any browser and can save them to their smartphone, tablet,or computer.

What You Need:

In order for Pillar to function the testing partner will need to supply additional hardware:
A Free To Air (FTA) satellite dish to be plugged directly into Pillar. 
  • Coaxial cable to connect dish to Pillar.
  • A satellite finder device or availability of a professional to point the dish towards the correct satellite in the sky.
  • A stable power source of at least 12V and 1.5A (power cord included with Pillar).
  • A working Internet connection with an ethernet cord that can be plugged in to Pillar.
